Inaugura alla galleria Quattro archi di Barga questa esposizione (venerdì 26 alle 18).

La mostra riunisce i due artisti che hanno sfruttato il programma di residenza gratuita al Quattro Archi.

Ogni artista ha visto Barga in modo diverso e .adesso offre un riflesso della  città, ognuno usando le

proprie abilità e il proprio mezzo preferito.

Gli artisti sono scozzesi e hanno avuto l’opportunità di vedere Barga per la prima volta con occhi nuovi.

Entrambi se ne sono andati con un’esperienza molto positiva. La mostra è un’opportunità per

condividere la loro impressione.

Gli artisti:

Susie Hunt è pittrice e insegnante di pittura che lavora prevalentemente con materiali a base d’acqua.

Insegna e dipinge principalmente nel suo studio vicino a Kemnay, dove vive, vicino alle rive del fiume

Don. Nel corso delle lezioni di tutoraggio su diverse tecniche, Susie pratica una varietà di metodi,

alcuni dei quali sono visibili nel suo lavoro. Combinando monoprint con acquerello e talvolta acrilico,

collage, disegno e pittura pura. Susie Hunt è un’artista di acquerello di talento che utilizza tecniche

multimediali per esprimere pienamente il suo coinvolgimento emotivo e il senso del luogo. Susie

lavora dal suo studio in Scozia ed è ben affermata come insegnante di acquerello. Ha completato una

residenza presso Quattro Archi nel 2024 e ha condotto due corsi di pittura ad acquerello negli studi

Quattro Archi.

Michael Waight è da tempo affermato come Master Printer – editando opere nei processi di incisione

in intaglio e rilievo per un vasto numero di artisti molto apprezzati e nuovi talenti emergenti in Scozia e

oltre. Nel frattempo ha continuato a esercitarsi come artista attivo a pieno titolo e realizza una varietà di

opere tramite stampa, tecniche miste e costruzioni in legno, rilegatura creativa, stampa a rilievo,

stampa Mokuhanga, foto-incisione, collagrafia e punta secca. Ha utilizzato una selezione di tecniche di

stampa intaglio e tecniche miste per catturare sia paesaggi urbani che paesaggi dell’area di Barga.

Michael è stato artista in residenza Quattro Archi nel 2025 e quest’anno conduce un corso di stampa a

punta secca negli studi Quattro Archi.

La mostra aprirà alle 18:00 di venerdì 26 giugno 2026 e proseguirà fino al 2 agosto. La galleria Quattro

Archi è aperta a tutti (gratuitamente) dalle 16:00 alle 19:30 ogni giorno. La galleria si trova a Vicolo del

Duomo, Barga (accanto al teatro).

Quattro Archi è un’organizzazione benefica che offre una sede per mostre, corsi d’arte e residenze per

artisti. Ora al suo quinto anno, Quattro Archi ha ospitato più di 30 mostre grandi e piccole, ha ospitato

più di 10 artisti in residenza e ha portato oltre 300 nuovi visitatori a Barga.

Quattro Archi Art Exhibition Summer 2026. OPENING 18:00 Friday 26th June

1. Exhibition Title:

‘QUATTRO ARCHI SUMMER EXHIBITION 2026 …… Hard Point-Soft Wash’

2. Description:

The exhibition brings together the two artists who have taken advantage of the free residency

programme at Quattro Archi. Each artist has seen Barga differently and provides us with a reflection of

our town each using their own skills and preferred medium.

The artists are from Scotland and had the opportunity to see Barga for the first time through fresh eyes.

Both left with a very positive experience. The exhibition is an opportunity to share their joy.

3. The Artists:

Susie Hunt is a painter and painting tutor working with predominantly water based media. She teaches

and paints mainly in her studio near Kemnay, where she lives, next to the banks of the River Don. In the

course of tutoring different techniques Susie practices a variety of methods and some of these are

visible in her work. Combining Monoprint with Watercolour and sometimes Acrylic, collage, drawing

and straight paint. Susie Hunt is an accomplished watercolour artist who includes multimedia

techniques to fully express her emotional engagement and sense of place. Susie works from her studio

in Scotland and is well established as a watercolour teacher. She completed a residency at Quattro

Archi in 2024 and has led two watercolour painting courses in the Quattro Archi studios.

Michael Waight has long been established as a Master Printer – editioning works in Intaglio and Relief

printmaking processes for a wide number of highly regarded artists as well as newly emerging talent within Scotland and beyond. All the while he has continued as a practicing artist in his own right and makes a variety of work via print, mixed media and wood construction, Creative Bookbinding, Relief, Printing, Mokuhanga Printing, Photo-Etching, Collagraphy and Drypoint. He has used a delection of intaglio and mixed media printing techniques to capture both townscapes and landscapes of the Barga area. Michael was Quattro Archi artist in residence in 2025 and is leading a drypoint printmaking course in Quattro Archi studios this year.

4. Duration and Location:

The exhibition opens at 18:00 on Friday 26th June 2026 and continues until 2nd August. The Quattro Archi gallery is open to all (no charge) 16:00-19:30 every day. The gallery is in Vicolo del Duomo, Barga (next to the theatre).

5. Sales:

The art work on display is for sale either framed or unframed. Most work is of a moderate size and

would comfortably fit in a suitcase. The gallery also has a range of artisan jewellery and quality artistic greetings cards available for purchase. Payments may be made by either card or cash….. card

preferred.

6. Quattro Archi:

Quattro Archi is a charitable organisation providing a venue for exhibitions, art courses and artist residencies. Now in its fifth year, Quattro Archi has staged more than 30 exhibitions large and small,

hosted more than 10 artists in residence and brought over 300 new visitors to Barga.
