On 17 and 18 and 24 and 25 August the San Pietro in Campo committee presents the 34th edition of the traditional Pork Meat Festival at the Sport Facility Grounds next to the Parish Church.
The traditional Festival started in the summer of 1977 and has now become the most important fund-raising event organised by the village committee. On these two weekends you can taste succulent and genuine pork meat cooked in different ways and other delicious traditional dishes like home-made vegetable soup and penne alla paesana. To finish off you will find at the bar, a wide selection of home-made cakes like apple or lemon curdle pie and chocolate cake baked in the traditional way.
On Tuesday 20 August the special “Fish and chips” made by the Barga-Scottish Lauro Bulgarelli who used to run a fish and chip restaurant for many years. (For this evening reservations requested at 3407178430)
Entertainment to follow with dancing to live music.
