The cultural association Venti d’Arte, dedicated to the promotion of the Arts, has organised since 2009 the National Musical Competition “Fornaci in…canto” now at its IXth edition. The competition, sponsored by Barga Town Hall, is organised by Massimo Salotti (artistic director) and Lucia Morelli (production director) and gives artists the opportunity to perform in front of an audience and qualified jury.
“Fornaci in..canto”, is a Festival that has grown over the years and has launched some important Italian TV talents in shows like: “Amici di Maria de Filippi” to “Sanremo Giovani” from “Mezzogiorno in Famiglia” to “Castrocaro Voci Nuove”; from “Io Canto” to “The Voice Italia” and finally to “X Factor”, consecration of the one of the jury members Emma Morton.
Some of the guests in past editions: Andrea Agresti, Dolcenera, Daniele Groff, Morgan ICS, Emma Morton, Marco Voleri.
The competition, this year, will be held in Piazza IV Novembre at Fornaci di Barga on 27, 28 and 29th July and is open to all singers and song-writers and divided in 3 categories Cant2, Cantautori (songwriters), Kids (under 14). Some of the prizes will be scholarships in money to allow the winners to perfect their musical talent. This year, for this first time, a band will accompany the finalists live and there will be some prestigious Italian and international musical guests
