Barga celebrates its connection with Scotland and Scottish culture, by having organizing “Barga’s Scottish Weekend”. It will take place on 2nd 3rd 4th of September.

The event will start on Friday 2nd September with the tastings of typically Scottish products in various venues in the historic centre of Barga (reservation recommended).

Saturday 3rd September at 10 am at the “J. Moscardini stadium” ( Italo-Scottish footballer who played with Italian national team) there will be the friendly match between the national teams of ‘writers’ from Italy and Scotland.

Come spend the day with numerous events then end the day with dinner at L’Osteria in Piazza Angelio (reservations required) and with traditional Scottish dancing.

The day coincides with the “7th Italian Celtic Supporters Club” annual gathering, organized by BargaCSC. The will also be the presentation several books about Celtic. The will also be a traditional Tuscan-Scottish dinner at the Shamrock Irish Pub ( reservations required) with music by the Scottish ceilidh band.

Sunday, September 4th the final event will be a football match between Celtic fans and then final farewell buffet at the PaoloGas Bar.

During the events you can purchase typical Scottish products, thanks to the participation of Scotland for You, Gold Scotland, Clan Italia and La Bottega del Pane who will set up a small Scottish market.
